Become a Keele Mentor
Do you remember what it was like when you received your offer to come to Keele? What about when you arrived and moved into your accommodation? Or when you went to your first lecture? Or went out with your new friends for the first time?
You may have been really excited, you may have been a little daunted, you may have been a bit of both. Regardless of this you have been there and done it; you potentially have the Carnage T-Shirt – if so we want you to support us to make the experience of our new students an excellent one.
This year we are really excited as we are introducing Keele Mentors, a Peer Mentoring Scheme which will see current Keele students (hopefully you!) who know and love this University, Mentor incoming Undergraduate students who are keen to find out all about what Keele has to offer. You will be tasked with making contact with your Mentees (new students), you’ll show them around, go for a coffee, show them the library and the Union and answer any questions they are likely to have either before they arrive, during those first few hectic days or as they continue to find their place as a Keele student.
By signing up to be a Keele Mentor you could be the difference between a new student having a Good year and a great year.
For this first year Mentors will be supporting students in the following Academic Schools/Programmes:
- Chemistry
- Computer Science and Mathematics
- Criminology and Sociology
- Life Sciences
- Management
- Medicine
- Nursing and Midwifery
We will also be providing peer support to all International students, all Mature students and those who have already had an e-mentor from Keele.
We will be recruiting and training new mentors in the new year.
If this is something that sounds up your street then sign up here.
