Rowing
Rowing is an elite sport with a long history and some outstanding participants – Sir Steve Redgrave to name but one. But it is almost exclusively a university sport. Keele University Boat Club gives you the chance to make your mark in this, the most challenging of sports.
Dozens of races throughout the year separate the good from the brilliant, and although only 2 years old, KUBC is making a name for itself. Last year we picked up several medals in the North West Indoor Rowing Championships, took part in a BUCS event in Peterborough and finished an incredible year with a win at Trentham Regatta.
Anyone who has watched the Boat Race will have an idea of how it feels to win after giving all you have to give – to have all those months of work pay off. Rowing is undoubtedly one of the most gruelling things you will ever do, but what you get in return is incomparable. The feel of flying through the water like nothing can stop you. The bond with your crew, on and off the water. The training that lets you become the best.
