Student Life in SPIRE
With students from all parts of the UK and Europe, and from many other parts of the world, SPIRE has a cosmopolitan intellectual environment that helps enrich the study of our subjects. There are opportunities for students to influence SPIRE policy through the Undergraduate Staff-Student Liaison Committees for each programme. SPIRE students benefit from the opportunity to spend a semester of their second year studying abroad at partner universities around the world, from the USA to China to Australia.
SPIRE students also benefit from three lively student societies:
For more student-led societies, see the Keele University Students' Union website.
We are a friendly community with a commitment to student welfare. Personal tutors are available for confidential advice and support outside classes and there is an extensive system of support provided by the University. This includes a Counselling Service, a Learning Support Unit (often used by overseas students who may need extra help with English), and a Disability Services Unit. Within SPIRE there are well-established systems in place to ensure that your progress is monitored and that you can get help when you need it.
For more information, there is a student Facebook group run by a SPIRE students who are happy to answer questions prospective students might have about studying in SPIRE, or about Keele University life in general.
