Shirley Williams at SPIRE
Baroness Williams of Crosby gave a seminar, hosted by SPIRE and arranged and chaired by Dr. Helen Parr, to staff, students, graduates and their families, on the topic of 'Challenges of a Political Career'. Baroness Williams gave an insightful overview of British political history since 1945 - the period that also coincides with her own political interest and career.
She took questions on a range of topics, including House of Lords reform, trust in politics, the future of political parties, education and the challenges of being a prominent female politician.
The seminar concluded with Baroness Williams asking the audience for their opinions on the future of British school education and on reforms to nursing training.
