Spire Teaching Award Congratulations to SPIRE's Dr James Tartaglia (Philosophy in SPIRE) as a  recipient of the University's Teaching Excellence Awards for 2010-11.  Congratulations also to Dr Emma Dawson (Learning Development Unit), Dr Bill Dixon (Criminology and Sociology) and Dr Deirdre McKay (Geography in Physical and Geographical Sciences). They were selected from a very strong field of 25. Over 120 nominations were received from students, more than in previous years. The record number of nominations and the high quality of the applications testify to the excellence of the teaching at Keele, and the increasing institutional emphasis on nurturing and recognising excellence in teaching and supporting learning.
