The School of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy (SPIRE) this week welcomed Marcel Wissenburg, Professor of Political Theory at Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, as part of an Erasmus teaching exchange, arranged by Professor Wissenburg and Professor Andrew Dobson (SPIRE).

During his stay Professor Wissenburg gave undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and presented a stimulating paper to SPIRE's research seminar, entitled 'The Ownership of Nature and of Energy: Four Liberal Perspectives'. Professor Wissenburg is a specialist in environmental political philosophy. His major publications include Political Pluralism and the State: Beyond Sovereignty (Routledge, 2008), Imperfection and Impartiality (UCL Press, 1999) and Green Liberalism: The Free and Green Society (UCL Press, 1998).
