What is a Pre Arrival Event?

Pre Arrival events are held before Welcome Week begins. They give an opportunity for students to meet each other, get to know their university and take part in various events aimed at making the transition a smoother process.

There were three events in September 2012/13:

  • Moving on Up! is our pre-arrival event for students who will be coming to Keele with a complex disability. The weekend long event is a chance for you to become familiar with Keele University before the start of the academic year. The event includes free accommodation and meals for eligible students and one parent or carer. More information is available from Disability and Dyslexia Support and from these web pages: http://www.keele.ac.uk/dds/events/movingonup/
  • Get on Up!  is our pre-arrival event for students living off campus or commuting to Keele. 'Get on up' will help your transition to university by providing an opportunity to meet other students and find your way round campus. During this event accommodation at discounted rates is available for students who require it. Please contact lifeandlearning@keele.ac.uk to make a booking for a room.
  • forMat! is our pre-arrival event for over 21's this event is a great opportunity to meet other mature students and get to know the university. The event is held over two days. During this event accommodation at discounted rates is available for students who require it. Please contact lifeandlearning@keele.ac.uk to make a booking for a room.
