Peter Crome trained in medicine at King’s College London and undertook postgraduate training at Guy’s Hospital. He moved to Keele as Professor of Geriatric Medicine in 1994. He was President of the British Geriatrics Society 2006-2008 and is presently Secretary-General of the Clinical Section of the IAGG Europe. He works in the memory clinic at Bucknall Hospital and is also Director of Research and Development for Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. He established the MSc in Geriatric Medicine at Keele, the first such course in the UK. His research interests include stroke, dementia and drug use in older people. He chairs the National Audit of Dementia Care in General Hospitals.
