His presentation discussed the construction of the identity of modern Persia, the politics of the Iranian revolution, the hybridity of the constitutional order, political contestation within the post-Khomeini republic, inter-factional rivalry among the clergy, Iran's response to 9/11, and the question of Iran's nuclear programme.  The talk was followed by a lively round of questions and an invitation to return for another presentation.
