A comparative study of the demand for, and regulation of, EU migrant workers in Sweden and the United Kingdom

Taking the EU principle of the free movement of people as the framework facilitating intra-EU migration, this project aims to explore two main issues. The first is the employer demand for EU migrant workers – those moving from Eastern to Western Europe after 2004. The second is the role and policies of the labour market actors in the regulation of EU migrant employment in Sweden and the UK; two of the three countries not to impose transitional measures on nationals from A8 countries following the 2004 EU enlargement.
