English at Keele has major research strengths in many areas and we welcome postgraduates who are seeking expert supervision.
Keele historians are enthusiastic, reflective and ambitious scholars whose expertise ranges in time from the eleventh century to the very recent past, and in place from the immediate environment of the north midlands to continental Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa.
Music is an established group of scholars comprising 8 academic staff and 7 research students. Its research outputs have received worldwide recognition.
Cultural and Media Studies draws together staff from across the Research Institutes, and in particular from the disciplines of English, Film Studies, Music, and Sociology.
Research in matters relating to the United States is supported by The David Bruce Centre for American Studies, founded in 1969.
