Critical International Relations beyond Westphalia

Dr Luis Lobo-Guerrero, SPIRE/RISS, was interviewed for the podcast series ‘The Evolving Character of Power Today’ of the International Security Network at ETH Zurich. The series focuses on how power is being diffused, individualised and democratised in the international system. The biopolitics of security, a research approach promoted at Keele by the Emerging Securities Research Unit, was featured as an alternative to conventional International Relations theories. The interview concentrated on Luis’s first two books on insurance, security and power as a case study of successful post-Westphalian approaches to global power.
