Research Repository

Repository Poster

A research repository is a database which will capture, store, index, preserve and redistribute Keele’s scholarly research in digital formats.

Having research outputs more widely and freely available will increase Keele’s visibility and hence research profile.  A research repository also enables ‘publicly funded research to be publicly available.’  Further information on the benefits of the research repository can be found on this Repository Presentation.

Its quick and easy to use.  Keele’s research repository is part of the existing publications database and it will update your webpage.

Instructions

1. Login
Login via https://publications.keele.ac.uk/ using your Keele username and password.

2. Upload
Go to your ‘approved’ list and find the relevant publication and click on the ‘full text’ tab and then ‘manage full text’ and upload your item.  Don’t forget to ‘grant rights’.

3. Share
Sit back and let the repository do the work for you.  As well as being stored, the repository will push your ‘full text’ out to your personal web page and search engines like Google.

Please note that everything you deposit is checked centrally to ensure compliance with copyright.

Please see the Repository Userguide‌ for more detailed information.

Save your ‘author’s only’ copy

Some publishers do not allow you to upload the final published version of your paper, to a repository.  Elsevier, one of the biggest publishers, is a key example of this.  To work around this, researchers are encouraged to keep their ‘author’s only’ copy (also referred to as post-print or final draft post-refereeing) for upload to the repository.

Search
Search Keele’s Research Repository to find full text items which have been uploaded.

There are two ways to search the repository; either type a word in the search box, or click on browse to see the collection in each Research Institute.

RePosit JISC project

Keele is part of a collaborative project with 4 other HEIs, which aims to increase uploads to the repository.
