Areas of responsibility are
- Strategic leadership for research and enterprise across the University
- Chair of Research Committee
- Chair of the Graduate School Board
- Chair of Research Student Liaison Committee
- Lead on the preparations for the Universty submission to the REF2014
- Promoting Keele's research and knowledge transfer activities locally, regionally, nationally and where appropriate internationally
- Strategic lead for knowledge partnerships
- PVC responsibility for regional representation
- Strategic lead on research students and research student issues
