Russian research at Keele has long enjoyed an international reputation, especially through the Neo-Formalist Circle, which has been based at Keele for over 30 years. Major areas for research are nineteenth-century Russian literature, especially women writers and feminist approaches, as well as Russian and Soviet cinema. Staff offer an exciting and supportive environment for postgraduate work.
Facilities
Research students are supported through the provision of: shared office space, IT equipment and research funding to support some travel and other expenses.
There are significant library resources at Keele to support Humanities research, including Early English Books On-Line (EEBO) and Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) , as well as the private David Bruce Centre Library for American Studies students and Staffordshire Studies repository for local historians. Keele is also ideally located near to other major libraries and collections, eg, John Rylands Library, the University Libraries of Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester and Liverpool and St Deiniol’s Library.
