Our research aims to contribute towards preventing musculoskeletal conditions from starting, getting worse or causing long-term disability in later life. These conditions are researched using a range of traditional and innovative approaches and methods. Approaches within the broad area of epidemiology include clinical epidemiology (which also includes research on diagnosis and prognosis); life course epidemiology (including work participation); population epidemiology and public health. Randomised clinical trials are also undertaken, alongside implementation studies and various clinimetric studies. These approaches are applied to various projects in the field of musculoskeletal health, with students working as part of active research teams.
