Jo Bailey
Jo is the Centre’s Operations Manager. She joined the Centre in 1998 working for the Director and the Head of Research Management. After completing a Diploma in Administrative Management and a HNC in Business Information Technology, Jo is now responsible for the Admin Support functions and I.T provision within the Centre. She works closely with our consultant database designer to ensure our trials databases are designed, tested and function to the highest standards. |

Dr Krysia Dziedzic
Krysia qualified in 1982 as a Chartered physiotherapist and completed her PhD in 1997. Krysia was the West Midlands Region Clinical Trialist for Physiotherapy prior to her current research post of Arthritis Research Campaign Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy. She has worked on musculoskeletal clinical trials for 15 years. |

Dr Nadine Foster
Nadine is Senior Lecturer in Therapies and is part of the senior academic team in the Trials Unit. A physiotherapist by background, she completed her doctorate in 1997 and she holds a Career Scientist Award from the Department of Health and conducts clinical trials in the field of low back pain and knee pain. Alongside teaching on Masters programmes at Keele and elsewhere, she represents the physiotherapy profession as the Research Seat on the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's governing Council. |

Professor Elaine Hay
Elaine is Professor of Community Rheumatology and Director of the Clinical Trials Unit. She leads a multidisciplinary research team, which has carried out a large number of primary care trials of treatments for upper limb disorders, spinal pain and knee osteoarthritis. These trials have enviable recruitment and follow-up rates. She has previously chaired the arc Education Subcommittee and the British Society of Rheumatology Research and Training Committee and represents primary care rheumatology on a number of other national groups. |

Dr Jonathan Hill
Jonathan joined the Trials unit 10 years ago, coming from a background as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He has a post-doc arc Lectureship post and is primarily involved in multicentre primary care clinical trials in musculoskeletal pain. His PhD was focussed on the benefits of screening and targeting treatment for back pain patients in primary care. |

Jo Jordan
Jo is a Systematic Reviewer and Information Specialist and has been working in evidence-based healthcare for over a decade. Jo has worked for the Cochrane Collaboration, the BMJ publication Clinical Evidence and the Evidence Based Healthcare Bulletin. Since joining the team at Keele, she has taught critical appraisal and systematic reviewing on a number of postgraduate courses. |

Nicola Leighton
Nicola is the Research Governance Officer at Keele University. She joined the University in 2005. In her capacity of Research Governance Office she is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures related to research governance and ethics. |

Dr Martyn Lewis
Martyn is a Senior Lecturer in Statistics and is one of a team of nine biostatisticians in the Centre. He lectures on the University Masters in Medical Science course and his main research focus is the design and analysis of clinical trials. Martyn is a statistical reviewer for national and international medical journals, and is a member of the Data Monitoring and Ethics Committee for the Arthritis Research Campaign. |

Zoe Mayson
Zoe graduated from Keele University with a dual honours degree in law and computer science and now acts as IT support for the Centre. She has recently become involved in designing data entry databases, working alongside our consultant database designer.

Dr Ricky Mullis
Ricky is an exercise physiologist and physiotherapist by background. He has been involved in clinical research and education at undergraduate and post-graduate level for over a decade. He was Clinical Trials Manager for 5 years, and now has a dual role as a Research Fellow and Study Co-ordinator. He referees for national and international peer-review journals, and his research focuses on the use of individualised outcome measures in clinical trials. |

Professor Julius Sim
Julius is Professor of Health Care Research. He is involved with a number of the clinical trials within the Unit, as well as the qualitative and epidemiological research programmes. Julius is Director of Postgraduate Research within the Centre and also teaches statistics and research methods to students in health and social sciences across the University. He is chair of the University Research Ethics committee. |

Dr Elaine Thomas
Elaine is a Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics and one of a team of nine biostatisticians in the Centre. She has the lead responsibility for the statistical analysis of a number of clinical trials and is also involved in their design and implementation. In addition, she teaches statistics to a range of health care professionals, including general practitioners and nurses, is a statistical reviewer for national and international medical journals, and sits as the statistical advisor on the North Staffordshire Local Research Ethics Committee. |

Chan Vohora
Chan is a Registered General Nurse with a Diploma in Nursing. She is one of the research nurses in the unit, and has been involved with many of the trials completed at PCMRC. Her key responsibilities include patient recruitment and follow-up within the Trials Unit. She is particularly interested in patient information, consent and auditing of research processes used in the trials programs. Currently involved in the low back pain programme of work.

Julie Young
Julie is a Research Nurse in the Trials Unit. She holds a Diploma in Adult Nursing and Midwifery. Her role within the Trials Unit is to support the day-to-day running of a trial. This includes helping in the setting up of a study, recruitment of participants into a study, informed consent, data collection and follow-up. Julie has a particular interest in the recruitment and retention of participants into randomised controlled trials. |
