Kostas Gemenis Contact Details: Background and Research Area/Thesis Title My PhD dissertation in progress investigates the impact of European integration on the parties' policy positions on environmental issues. My research combines quantitative and qualitative techniques in a 'mixed methods' research design. The core of the quantitative analysis was presented at the ECPR Summer School on Parties and Party Systems (European University Institute, Florence) on September 2008. The quantitative interpretation will be supplemented with an analysis of archival and interview data which will be collected in the spring semester in 2009. My current research interests are within the domains of Europeanization, parties and party systems and conceptualization and measurement in comparative politics.
