I have been teaching on counselling courses at Keele since 2002, beginning with the Graduate Diploma and now teaching on the MSc in Counselling Psychology. I feel very much at home at Keele, having completed all my own counsellor training here, from a Certificate through to the Masters and supervision training.
I really value the way in which my teaching informs my practice and vice versa, and for the past five years I have worked as a counsellor in two different settings – St. Luke’s Hospice, Cheshire, and Psychological Services within the NHS. I have just embarked on a new phase in my counselling career, having recently been appointed as Senior Counsellor with the Staff Counselling Service at University Hospital North Staffordshire. I am an accredited member of the BACP.
I have a particular interest in working with issues of loss and bereavement and also in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse, having undertaken specialised training in both areas.
