I was a part time lecturer on the MA in counselling at Durham University for seven years, during this time I was also working in private practice as counsellor and supervisor for many different agencies including Mind, Streetwise, Rainbow Trust and agencies working with children who had experienced domestic violence.

I was involved in setting up and running a primary school play therapy service in County Durham.

Prior to this I worked as student counsellor and senior counsellor at a large FE college in Northumberland and taught various counselling courses in local colleges.

I began to work at Keele  in 2005 and have a particular interest in heuristic research.
