Terry Eagleton lecture at Keele

Posted on 04 February 2015

Professor Terry Eagleton will deliver a lecture in the Keele University Chapel at 7.15 p.m. on Monday, 9 February, organised by the Potteries Theological Society. The lecture is titled 'Was Jesus a revolutionary?'

Terry Eagleton has been known for many years as a Marxist literary critic. In recent years he has been a vigorous opponent of Richard Dawkins, of whom he wrote: "Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology". His most recent book was “Culture and the Death of God”, which discusses the modern search for a replacement for God.

No tickets are required for this event, and entry is free.
