Our continued growth of points and position in the Guardian league table shows our commitment to high quality teaching and student experience. To improve significantly on graduate prospects and to have ten subjects in the top 20 is a great achievement.

Keele University has seven subjects in the Top 10 and ten in the Top 20 in the prestigious Guardian University League Table for 2016.

Continuing to increase its point total, Keele has an overall position of 42nd, up 12 places in the last four years and has gained four points in the past year in satisfaction with teaching, spend per student and most significantly in graduate career prospects after six months.

Nursing & Midwifery made the biggest climb, up from 14th to 4th position. Other top 10 subjects included Medicine (6th), American Studies (10th), Anatomy & Physiology (5th), Health Professions (7th), Pharmacy (9th) and Social Policy & Administration (7th).

The Guardian’s league tables rank universities according to: spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results; and how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, based on results from the annual National Student Survey(NSS).

Keele University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nick Foskett, said: “Our continued growth of points and position in the Guardian league table shows our commitment to high quality teaching and student experience. To improve significantly on graduate prospects and to have ten subjects in the top 20 is a great achievement.”
