Medicine Summer School 2014

A Medical Summer School designed to provide year 12 students, who have the potential and aspiration to become tomorrow's doctors, with an opportunity to gain a insight in to the actualities of practicing medicine has been organised by Keele University School of Medicine and the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

Students will experience some of the basic skills required should they undertake a medical career.

Typical activities include:

  • Practical clinical skills
  • Consultant talks
  • Triage activities
  • Department tours
  • Insight into applying to Medical school


The programme allows students to confirm their aspirations to become a doctor and provide a boost to university applications. The summer school will be held over a two day period. Day one will take place at Day at Keele Keele University School of University on Wednesday Medicine on Wednesday 2nd July 2014, with a choice of 3rd or 4th for a follow-up day.

Day two will take place at University Hospital of North SDtaffordshire on a choice of either Thursday 3rd or Friday 4th July 2014.
