John Howlett

I received my MA in History and my M. Phil and PhD in Educational History from the University of Cambridge where I was also a Research and Teaching Assistant.

I was appointed to the staff at the University of Keele in September 2011 and commenced my post Jan 1st, 2012.

My research interest areas cover

  • Social Policy
  • Comparative Study

I am currently working on two book proposals  - one related to the English Public Schools and the other the work of Edmond Holmes. I am also currently authoring two publications on school discipline.
