I received my MA in History and my M. Phil and PhD in Educational History from the University of Cambridge where I was also a Research and Teaching Assistant.
I was appointed to the staff at the University of Keele in September 2011 and commenced my post Jan 1st, 2012.
My research interest areas cover
- History of Education
- Historical Methodology
- Progressivism
- Social Policy
- Comparative Study
I am currently drawing up proposals for work related to archival collections of Cambridge progressive educators and a Spencer Foundation funded project related to school discipline.

I am currently under contract with Continuum Press to produce a large-scale book (350 pages) detailing the history of progressive education due to be published in May 2013.
