My first degree was in Mathematical Physics at the University of Sussex. I then did an Astrophysics PhD at St Andrews were I studied binary stars. Following post-doctoral work in Denmark, Sussex and Southampton I came to Keele in 2001 as a lecturer.
My main research area since 2003 has been the search for planets beyond the solar system. Keele is a member of the WASP consortium (www.superwasp.org) and is responsible for the operation of the WASP-South instrument. I work on hardware improvements to the instrument, dicovery of new planets and characterising the planets we have found. I also study binary stars to understand how they form and how they interact.
