Course Resources
- The Handbook of Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy is an invaluable source of information for all Physics and Astrophysics modules. Includes fundamental constants, calculus, statistics, etc.
- Periodic tables are available online from the Los Alamos National Laboratory or from webelements.com
- Martin V. Zombeck's Handbook of Space Astronomy & Astrophysics is available on-line.
- The recommended first year course book is University Physics with Modern Physics by Hugh D. Young and Roger A. Freedman (International Edition with MasteringPhysics online access including e-book, Pearson Education, 13 edition (1 July 2011), ISBN: 978-0321762191). We also use Vibrations and Waves by George C. King (Wiley,2009.ISBN: 978-0-470-01189-8). We have used Tipler: "Physics for Scientists and Engineers 4e", in the past, which has a website associated with it.

Physics/Astrophysics Staff-Student Liaison Committee
The Physics and Astrophysics Staff-Student Liaison Committee meets at least once per semester to keep under review all academic and administrative matters relating degree programmes in these subjects. These matters include concerns raised by students and consideration of the responses to student evaluation questionnaires. The committee reports back to the students, the Physics and Astrophysics Teaching Committee, and for strategic matters to the Physics and Astrophysics Teaching and Learning Committee.
