Following 26 years working in the Pharmaceutical industry, I have recently been appointed as the Head of the School of Pharmacy, here at Keele University.  In addition to this I also Chair the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership NHS Trust board and also the Chair of the Nursing and Midwifery Councils Appointments Board. 

I am a graduate in Pharmacy from The School of Pharmacy, University of London and also attained my PhD in Microbial Genetics there in 1985. I obtained a post graduate 3 year Diploma in Management studies at the UK West Midlands Regional Management School in 1989.

I have been fortunate to live and to work in 4 countries spread over 3 continents. UK, USA, Sweden and Japan.

I retired from AstraZeneca in April of 2011, my final position being a Global Vice President of Strategic Partnering and Business Development. Prior to that I held 4 other global Vice President position within AstraZeneca. VP Global Project Development (Diabetes), VP Global Regulatory Affairs UK HUB, VP Global Regulatory Affairs Executive, VP Global Cardiovascular Regulatory Affairs.
