Designed for policy-makers, professionals and managers who have already successfully completed Masters level management education, the course offers an opportunity to:

  • Specialise in health policy and/or public policy
  • Continue personal development and deepen expertise in a (policy or management) area of choice
  • Develop competencies in research skills and knowledge of methodologies

Acquire credits in research methods and produce a written thesis (60,000words) on a topic which makes an original contribution to the body of knowledge in the field of health or public policy or management and which demonstrates an understanding of the practice of research. Regular, short residential modules incorporate research methods training, a health policy workshop, and supervision of studies. The core research methods modules are shared with the University's EdD programme (Education) and additional health-specific modules are arranged
