Keele's Partnership with Schools and Colleges
The Keele PGCE course is in partnership with over 80 secondary schools and colleges and we collaborate with over 100 primary schools. Together, we work to provide high quality school placements which enable our Associate teachers to develop their subject knowledge, pedagogical understanding and teaching skills to become effective classroom practitioners.
The Keele Initial Teacher Education partnership spans schools in Stoke on Trent, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and the West Midlands. Schools become formal partners (download a copy of the ) and receive reimbursement for providing training places in Science, English, History, Geography, Social Science (Sociology and Psychology) , Maths, Modern Foreign Languages and ICT. Further details available by telephoning the PGCE office on 01782 7 33120/33124/33130/33192.
Partnership brings many advantages to schools:

- excellent professional development opportunities for teaching staff as they develop their coaching and mentoring skills
- collaboration with university tutors through attendance at development sessions at Keele
- engagement with the most up to date ideas in curriculum areas
