I joined Keele in 2000 after completing my PhD at The University of Manchester. Prior to that I had completed an MSc in Medical Statistics at The University of Leicester and a BSc (Honours) in Statistics from The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
My research within Keele is located in the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre, Primary Care Sciences within the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences.
I currently teach the statistics component of the MSc in Rheumatology Nursing, University of Keele. I am also a course tutor for a 3-day course entitled “Practical Introduction to Running Randomised Clinical Trials” ran annually by Primary Care Sciences.
I am an external examiner for MSc Primary Care at Queen Mary, University of London (2007-present), a member of Arthritis Research UK’s Orthotics Advisory Group: Research into the development of new aids and appliances for patients with musculoskeletal disease (2007-present), the statistical member of Operational Group for NIHR Research Design Service for the West Midlands, the Keele University Hub (2008-present) and an editorial board member and lead statistical advisor for Rheumatology (2007-present) and Musculoskeletal Care (2003-present) journals.
