I came to Keele in 1987 as an undergraduate, and graduated in 1990 with a BSc in Mathematics and Biology. I stayed at Keele and studied for my PhD in Statistics, which I gained in 1996. In 2009 I was awarded an MSc in Health Economics from the University of Birmingham.

In 1994 I was made Research Assistant at the School of Postgraduate Medicine, Keele. In 1997 I was appointed Lecturer in Statistics at the former Industrial & Community Health Research Centre - now the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre, Keele. In 2006 I was promoted to Senior Lecturer.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.

My research interests are principally in the statistical and economic evaluations of clinical trials – with particular reference to primary care musculoskeletal research.

I have over 70 articles in press or published in international peer-review journals (see Publications tab for specific details). I have been a co-applicant on nine grant awards totalling over £6million.
