I have been a practising GP since 1993. In addition I work as a GP with Special Interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine at the Haywood Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. One of main clinical areas of interest is Sports and Exercise Medicine. I currently work in professional football but have also worked as a Sports Physician at the Commonwealth Games. A further role is as Medical Editor of Hands On published by Arthritis Research UK.

My research is based at the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre. I am involved in a wide range of projects relating to musculoskeletal conditions that commonly present in primary care. I am particularly interested in implementation of best practice.
