I joined the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre at Keele in January 2010. Previously I held appointments at Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol Universities.
My research at Keele is located in the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre within the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences. I am a qualitative health researcher currently working in the field of musculoskeletal pain. My current research interests include the changing role of primary care services in low back pain, implementation of new services/systems in musculoskeletal disease, and patient-professional interactions. I have a special interest in observation methods as applied to clinical settings.
I have studied the impact of wider policy trends in the NHS on micro processes, such as the influence of evidence-based practice on patient autonomy.
