I came to keele in 2003 on the Northstaffordshire GP academic VTS when I started, along with my clinical training as a GP, my Masters in Medical Sciences course. I graduated from medical school in 1989 and pursued a surgical career and obtained the FRCS in general surgery in 1997. I then moved into plastic surgery before I decided to change career into general practice in 2003.

My research within Keele is located in the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre within the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences. I am currently a GP clinical lecturer.
