I am currently a Research Associate on two research projects at Keele. Following completion of my degree in Psychology at the University of Durham, I spent two years in the commercial sector before taking up the joint post of Administrator for the Centre for Social Gerontology and for LARC at Keele in 2007. While in this post, I completed the Masters in Gerontology course at Keele. I am now registered as a part-time PhD student at Keele.
I am currently Research Associate on the Patient Experiences of Gout (PEG) study in the Research Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences, and the Longitudinal study of Ageing in a Retirement Community (LARC) in the Research Institute for Social Sciences. Alongside my work on PEG and LARC, I am registered as a part-time PhD student at Keele under the supervision of Prof. Miriam Bernard and Prof. Julius Sim. My PhD will explore the representations, expectations and realities of life in a UK retirement village.
