I joined Keele in June 2008 as a research assistant where I conducted a systematic review looking into back, neck and upper limb pain and work absence and performance. In 2010 I began my PhD investigating the atttutudes, beliefs and experiences of general practitioners and patients with regard to sickness certification and back pain, as well as continuing my work as a research assistant on study looking into work and pain. Prior to my appointment here I attended The University of Derby and obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Health Psychology.
My research within Keele is located in the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre. The focus of my research is musculoskeletal pain and employment, including sickness certification and work absence. This work also forms the basis of my PhD.
