I graduated in Medicine from Bristol University in 1990. After various hospital and community posts, during which I gained an MPH from Birmingham University (2001), I became a general practitioner in Newcastle under Lyme in 2002.
I have been a GP research fellow at Keele since 2008, and an NIHR In-Practice Fellow since 2010.
I am studying toward an MPhil, examining the quality of care of osteoarthritis in general practice. This is part of a wider osteoarthritis study, funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
Although I contribute occasionally to undergraduate teaching through Keele University Medical School, the majority of my teaching is in postgraduate GP training.
