I joined the centre in September 2011 as a Research Nurse whilst still holding my Practice Nurse post.
I finished my degree in nursing in the Philippines. I was recruited by a private sector to come to the UK in 2000 wherein I worked in different nursing homes between Manchester and Cheshire areas. Afterwards, I spent some time in Miami Florida to work in a Rehabilitation Centre as a Restorative Supervisor. Eventually, I decided to go back to the UK for personal reasons. I worked in palliative care in Westcliffe Hospital prior to its closure. Following the closure, I joined the rheumatology daycase unit which gave me the opportunity to be involved in some of the clinical research trials. I then moved on to become the Deputy Ward Manager in a busy stroke rehabilitation ward wherein I undertook the Health Assessment and Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Modules. This eventually paved the way for my current Practice Nurse/Nurse Prescriber post.
