I joined Keele in 2000 in order to undertake a PhD looking at the illness perceptions of people with hand problems, after completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology at Staffordshire University.  During my BSc I undertook a 12 month studentship in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Staffordshire, and became involved in an out-patient pain management programme at Leek hospital.  Following completion of my PhD I have, and am currently involved in, co-ordinating a number of studies within the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre.

My research interests are quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Behaviour change and interventions.

The use of theories and models.

Illness perceptions.
