I had the pleasure to be a visiting senior researcher at the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre, Keele University, during 3 months in 2009. My educational background is an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy (Oslo, 1982), a Master in Health Science (Section for Health Science, University of Oslo, 1997) and a Doctorate in Philosophy (Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, 2005). After 2005 I have been working as Research Leader at a Research and Communication Unit for Musculoskeletal Diseases (FORMI) at Oslo University Hospital, and as a Senior Researcher at the National Resource Center for Rehabilitation in Rheumatology (NRRK), Diakonhjemmet, Oslo. I am currently a Norwegian representative for the International Forum for Primary Care Research on Low Back Pain International Organizing Committee.

During my time at Keele I collaborated with Peter Croft, Kate Dunn and Nadine Foster on merging data from two large surveys (the BaRNS and the BeBack) and conducting a broad-spectered prognostic analysis for acute/subacute and chronic LBP.  During the Keele stay I also wrote an editorial together with Peter Croft.

My research experience has been predominantly in the field of musculoskeletal disorders, in particular spinal and shoulder disorders, as well as osteoarthritis. It covers epidemiological studies and randomised controlled trials both in the primary and secondary care. In addition I have carried out several methodological studies on self-reported questionnaires.
