New study on experiences of living with gout

Researchers in the ARUK Primary Care centre at Keele University are conducting a study to find out more about people’s experiences of living with gout. The aim of the study is to provide a section about gout on www.healthtalkonline.org – an award-winning website that contains interviews with people talking about their experiences of over 60 health-related conditions and illnesses.

The website provides information for people with gout as well as their families and friends, and for health professionals involved in the care of people with gout.

Interviews will be carried out with around 60 people across England, Wales and Scotland who have, or who have had, gout. The interviews will be video recorded and will be written up for the Healthtalkonline website, where summaries of the interviews, along with video clips, will be made freely available.  If you have gout and would be willing to take part in a research project by sharing your experiences, we would be delighted to hear from you.

If you would like more information, or you are interested in taking part in this study, please download the patient experiences of gout information leaflet or contact Jenny Liddle (Email: j.liddle@keele.ac.uk   Tel: 01782 734596).

This study is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) School for Primary Care Research.
