Ordinance VIII - Constitution and Membership of Faculties
1. There shall be a Faculty of Health, a Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and a Faculty of Natural Sciences, to which academic departments/schools are assigned as described in Ordinance VI above.
2. Heads and members of the academic staff who are members of the Senate or the electoral roll of the departments/school included in Ordinance VI for the purposes of Section 25 of the Statutes shall be members of the Faculty to which their department/school is assigned. Where a department/school constituted by Ordinance VI is not assigned to a Faculty the provisions of paragraphs 3 and 4 below shall apply to the members of such departments/school.
3. The Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost, the Librarian, the Director of Planning and Academic Administrations shall be members of such Faculties as the Senate shall determine, whether or not they are already by virtue of other provisions of Statutes or Ordinances members of a Faculty.
4. The Senate may appoint as members of any Faculties members of the academic staff who are members of another Faculty and such other persons engaged in the academic life of the University as the Senate shall determine.
