Section 6 - The Vice-Chancellor
1. The successors to the first Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Council. The Council, however, shall not make such an appointment except on the recommendation of the Senate and after considering a report from a Joint Committee of the Council and the Senate.
2. Subject to Section 31 the Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for such period and under such conditions as shall from time to time be determined by Statute or Ordinance.
3. The Vice-Chancellor shall have a general responsibility to the Council for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order of the University.
4. The Vice-Chancellor may refuse to admit any person as Student without assigning any reason and may suspend any Student from any class or classes and may exclude any Student from any part of the University or its precincts. The Vice-Chancellor shall report any such suspension or exclusion to the Council and the Senate at their next meeting. The Vice-Chancellor may delegate this power to refuse admission, suspend from any class or classes, or exclude from any part of the University, to another Officer of the University provided always that such Officer shall report any suspension or exclusion to the Council and the Senate at their next meeting.
5. The Vice-Chancellor may resign by writing addressed to the Council.
