Science for Sustainability: Solar Scrapheap Challenge (KS2)

Solar Scrapheap Challenge is a fun and interactive way of introducing renewable energy and climate change to pupils. This workshop allows pupils to design, build and race a model solar powered car using re-used and recycled materials. It helps pupils to understand the potential of using the sun for its energy and gives a great introduction to why we need to find alternative sources of energy.

This is a hands on and educational workshop which covers aspects of climate change, renewable energy and electricity generation. The workshop covers aspects of the geography, citizenship, science and design technology curriculum.
