Stardome (KS2)

Let your students embark on a trip to outer space in our inflatable planetarium. We can also now offer a trip inside the Human Body, with our Cell!Cell!Cell! film.

STEM Specialists are trained to set up the Stardome in your school or local community and deliver age-appropriate sessions. We can also provide follow-up academic sessions.

We are Aliens! (Film)

This film explores the reality of searching for life on other planets, from an astrobiology perspective. Narrated by Harry Potter star Rupert Grint. Accessible enough for KS2, but with enough detail for KS3.

Exoplanets

Exoplanets form a large part of the Astrophysics research at Keele University. Enter the Stardome to explore the mysteries of planets outside our Solar System. This session is led by either an academic or suitable student and can be tailored to any KS2 – KS4 group.

Technical Requirements

Floor space  7.5m x 7.5m   Height 3.5-m

The Stardome can be set up in about 40 minutes and takes 30 minutes to pack away.

The Stardome can accommodate up to a maximum of 35 KS2, or 30 KS3/KS4 pupils at a time.

The equipment can be brought to your school in a single vehicle, but is heavy, so we would appreciate being able to park close to where it is being set up.

The length of each show is negotiable, but we find that a minimum of 30 minutes should be allowed. Any longer than 50 minutes is probably not suitable for younger children.
