Ian’s teaching and learning activities focus on acute care nursing, mentorship and on the development of the School’s e-learning resources. He currently leads a Common Foundation Programme module in the School’s pre-registration programmes and the School’s Mentorship online module. In addition to these modules, he makes regular contributions to nursing and midwifery modules in years 2 & 3 of students’ programmes.
Ian’s clinical background is in Emergency nursing and in this context he has worked in Emergency Departments in Manchester, Leicester and Stoke on Trent.
In 2003, Ian co-edited a book entitled ‘Medical Assessment Units: the initial management of acute medical patients’ published by Whurr Publishers.
