Biography

Lydia trained as an Adult Nurse at Keele university, and following this gained her first role in Cardiothoracic Critical Care at Royal Stoke Hospital (UHNM). Here she consolidated the learning gained during her training and built upon this, completing many in-house training courses in addition to the Critical Care Course.

Following this and with a strong interest in education and supporting student nurses, Lydia moved to the corporate nursing teams at UHNM. Her first role supported nursing assistants and nursing associates, and she also had the opportunity here to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher and Professional Education. Following this, she moved to a Clinical Placement Facilitator role and has just handed in her dissertation to complete her Masters in Education. In addition to this, Lydia is also a Professional Nurse Advocate.

Lydia thoroughly enjoyed supporting student nurses and placement areas in practice. Combined with her interest in education, this led to her interest in lecturing and she recently joined the team as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing.
