"Childhood Obesity: UK and US Perspectives"

Anna Jo Bodurtha Smith gave a paper to over 50 student nurses and paediatric academic staff as part of the Keele World Festival 2012 events.
Anna Jo Bodurtha Smith has a MPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a BA in Sociology from Yale University. She weaves her academic work on social policy with advocacy on behalf of children and families. She has worked for the Virginia Legislature, Governor’s Office, and several non-profits to improve the accessibility and quality of health services for disadvantaged children and families. She is currently researching ways to weave childhood obesity interventions into paediatric care in the NHS and US. Her interesting presentation was on childhood obesity from an UK and US perspective.
