This week two members of the academic team from the School of Nursing and Midwifery have both received fellowships:
Andrew Finney has been successfully approved for funding by the Chief Nursing Officer and the National Institute for Health Research (N.I.H.R) for a Clinical Doctoral Fellowship. This prestigious research fellowship award of £300,000 gained in a highly competitive field will enable Andrew to undertake a PhD focusing on 'Multi-disciplinary support for self-management of Osteoarthritis in primary care’. Andrew will be seconded from the School of Nursing and Midwifery on a full-time basis for three years and will undertake his PhD at the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre, located at the Institute for Primary Care Sciences on Keele campus. The award is a fine example of collaboration between the research institute and the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
