Preventing Death by Indifference Group getting award   Award Winning Project Posted on 07 October 2010 Preventing Death by Indifference team, working on a two year collaborative project designed to help local health care workers to support people with a learning disability in hospital, has won a regional award. RCN Bus outside the CEC   RCN bus visits Clinical Education Centre Posted on 22 September 2010 The Royal College of Nursing touring bus recently visited the Clinical Education Centre.   New Head of Nursing and Midwifery Posted on 31 August 2010 Pauline Walsh, Director of Pre-registration Programmes, has been appointed as Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, in the Faculty of Health.   Visiting Lecturer from South Africa Posted on 07 August 2010 Dr Sue Read welcomed Rudi Harmse, Senior lecturer in the School of Information and Communication, Technology at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa, who visited the School on the 5th and 6th of August, 2010.   Dr Sue Read Travels to Australia Posted on 08 July 2010 Dr Sue Read attended the 3rd International Nursing Education Today/Nurse Education in Practice conference in Sydney in April 2010.   Student Nurses' Global Experiences Posted on 29 June 2010 Current and past Student Nurses presented their international experiences at the School of Nursing and Midwifery   1st Student Nurse from Sweden Posted on 26 June 2010 The School receives it's 1st student nurse from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden on the exchange programme   Successful Bid Posted on 04 June 2010 Pauline Walsh (Director of Pre-registration programmes) on behalf of the School has been successful in securing funding "to Support Implementation of Changes to Pre Registration Nursing Programmes".   Awarded New Reseacher Award Posted on 28 May 2010 Julie Green, Lecturer in Nursing and affiliate member of the Research
Institute for Primary Care and Health Sciences, has been awarded the RCN
Research Society Marjorie Simpson New Researchers' award for her PhD
project.   Students go to Uganda Posted on 29 March 2010 As part of the Children’s nursing course students have the opportunity to take an elective placement, of which two students have decided to go to Uganda and involve themselves in the health related work of the Kabanda Trust.
